Between the pieces Mr. A Lipman, a recent arrival, made his first appearance in- the great rope-tying feat, by which the Brothers Davenport have created such unbounded wonderment throughout England and the States of the West. The per-. former, on his introduction, was greeted with that applause so justly awarded to all new comers ; and after being, tied by one of the andience in such a manner as, to . his mind, seemed to render liberation a thing impossible', an’ elongated case of canvas cloth was placed over and around him,/ and the task of freeing himself from the ropes was 'commenced, of course oat of the view of the audience. In the. lapse of several minutes, the case was removed, and Mr. Lipman appeared with the rope-in his band. He was loudly applauded.
