COMMERCIAL RECORD.
The receipts at the Customs for the week ending 15th October amounted to £3,094 6s. 9d. i Messrs. J. S. Macfarlme & Co. sold on Friday at auction, 67 cases Brass’ stout, at 7s. 9d.; 43 hogsheads Ind and Coupe’s aie at £4 15s. to £5; 20 quarter casks brandy at 7s. in bond. [the n.vy.mahket. Land Sale. — Mr. Bnckland olfered for sale, at the Haymarket on Saturday, by order of the trustees of the late .Mr. M. Caldicott, about 42 acres of choice volcanic land at Epscm in the following lots : 1. Five acres, three roods, and twenty-five perches, nearly opposite the Epsom Church, adjoining the property of T. Paton, Esq., and abutting on the road leading to Auckland. This is at present planted with oats, and was kneoked I down to Dr. Stokes at £BO an acre. I 2. Containing 5 acres 3 roods, 29 perches, having a supply of water, was purchased by Mr, Brookfield, solicitor, for £6O an acre. 3. Containing 4 acres. 3 roods, 33 perches, also with a water supply, fell to Mr. Brookfield for .£6O an acre. 4. Containing 20 acres “of rich land, securely fenced and subdivided. On this lot is the dwelling house of 7 rooms with numerous outbuildings, all in good repair ; an excellent walled garden, fifed with large fruit trees, and is at all times abundantly supplied with water for cattle, were sold to Mr. Nairn for £3O an acre. 5. A leasehold property of 20 acres, adjoining the homestead ; is fenced and divided into two paddocks ; held at a rental of £lO per annum, with four years to run, was purchased by Mr. Brookfield for £6l. 6. Containing 4 acres. 2 roods, 39 parches ; securely fenced, and well watered; contains a large barn, stable, and havloft; weather boarded and shingled, was purchased for £65. _ 1 7. An acre lot at Mongolia!, with a deep water frontage, , realised £34. ■ Hay. —Cartloads of hay realized on Saturday, £2 10s. for inferior; £3 i'or fair quality; and £4 a load for j good. A load of 18 cwt superior quality made £7. ] House Market. —The prices of last week may be , taken as a criterion of Saturday. Draught Colts seemed to be in demand and varied from £l9 to £52. Four years £3O to £4l. 1 Miscellaneous.— A Spring Cart was sold for £6 15s. 1 A Dray for £B. Two sets of heavy harness, £2 each ; ] a quantity of saddles realized from 10s., to £3 ss. Four , doors, new, with mouldings round the panels, were sold for £1 each. Throe Window frames, new with sashes, glazed, : 12 by 14 were sold for £5 2s. 6d.
