Mr. Joseph Cochrane sold at his market, a six-roomed house in Grey-street, on Monday, for £3lO, and the two others advertised were withdrawn at £340 ; 5 allotments in the township of Raglan, were also sold at 6s. 6d. and £1 per foot. Id,; and annatto, 2s. 1 d. per fb. Ridings and Dowden sold, on Tuesday, nearly 500 boxes Hobarton apples, from 2d. to per lb.; jams, in lib. tins, 15s. per dozen ; and jams in 41b. jars, at Is. ISJ. per lb.; Twofold Bay cheese, about 1 ton, averaged BJ. per lb. A very valuable block of land, known as Alma Place, Freeman’s Bay, the property of J. Campbell, Esq., was offered for public competition on Tuesday, at Mr. S. Cochrane’s Auction Mart. There was a large attendance, and the biddings were most spirited. The first allotment at the corner of College-street, and England-street, realised £4 55., a foot. The lowest price on College-street was £2 12s. 6d. In Franklyn-street the prices were £2 15s. to £2 7s. 6d.; this includes the privilege of taking the adjoining allotments iti the rear at half-price. This privilege was accorded in other streets. The prices varied from 245. upwards, and, on the whole, wore highly satisfactory. We may just say that the terms of sale were very accommodating and liberal. J. S. Macfarlane and Co., sold on Wednesday, at their stores, the fol lowing goods in bond;-10 cases containing 80 boxes, 20 lbs each, Knight Templar tobacco, lb. lumps, at 2s. 4d., 9 cases containing 72 boxes, 20 lbs. each, cocksfoot, lb. lumps, at 2s. 2d., 1 half-tierce, 5 lb. lumps, at 3s. 6d. per lb.; 2 cases 1000 each, colerado cigars, at 955. per 1000 ; 1 case assorted snuffs, in jars, (Tomlins and C 0.,) at 4s. 9J, pur lb. J Cochrane sold on Wednesday a six-roomed house, with three acres of land, at Remnera, for £445. Mr. S. Cochrane sold at his mart on Thursday the'eargo of the Will Watch, consisting of oranges at Is. 7d. to Is. Bd.; cocoa nuts, 2s. 4d. per dozen; pine apples, lid. eachbananas, lid. to Is. Id.; and coffee, Is. 3d. per lb.; lime juice, Is. BJd. per gallon ; also, apples 3d. to 4|d ; quinces, 2 jd. to 3 J-d; pears, 2.|d to 6M; grapes, 4)d ; Hobarton bacon, 1 Oj-d to lid; Hobarton hams, 95 to 10J. and Sydney bacon, 6d. to 8J per lb. Messrs. “Ridings and Dowden sold on Thursday at their mart a-large quantity of new and mostly standard works at fair prices. A Salk of Special Settlement Land took place at the Waste Land Office, on Monday, to the party who came out with the Rev. Mr. Smith, for settlement on the Waitara Block, near the harbour of Mnnukau. These settlers very wisely avoided competition, and no more than the upset price was consequently paid for the 2,000 acres disposed of to these emigrants.
