That this Meeting is of opinion that a Society ■£««-• the Study and Practice of Vocal and Instru- ’ mental Music, of a high class, such as Oratorios, &c., is needed at the present time, and would be sufficiently supported by the Public of Auckland. , 2nd. That Messrs. Allan, Baker, Beale, Brown, Cochrane, Crawford, Fenton, Lusk, Osborn, Parsons, Reid, and Sanderson, be a Committee to ascertain I the amount of support, and Members likely to ho f obtained for such Society. The Committee toreport progress on Thursday, 22nd inst. 3rd. That one of the fundamental Rules of the proposed 1 Society shall be, that no Public Concerts shall ho given by the Society, hut that its Meetings shall he open to Honorary Members and their friends, on such nights as shall hereafter be fixed upon, i 4th.
