RIDING HORSES AND TRAPS ON HIRE. In connection with the Goods and Parcels Office, CITY OF AUCKLAND STORES, FORT-STREET. NOTICE.— RAITHBY & BROWN will run a DRAY for the conveyance of GOODS and "PARCELS to and lrom Otahuhn and the Camp, DAILY. SEEDS, SEEDS.—Reduction of 25 per cent, in prices.—The undersigned, having lately imported a large quantity of agricultural seeds, (such as lucerne, white and red clover, ryegrass, mixed meadow grass, lawn grass, tri folium, trefoil, and others), offers the same at prices which must speedily ensure their selling, so that farmers, graziers, and others may take advantage of the present fine season by laying down fattening paddocks. Any of the above seeds may be sown among the growing crops of wheat, barley, or oats, without injury to other crops, with no further culture than merely rolling in : the roller covers the seed sufficiently and prepares the land for the scythe, thereby a field of Italian ryegrass and clover may be laid down for about 255. per acre, which will remain a permanent pasture for many years without further expense. Hay growers would do well to turn their attention to these clovers and grasses for hay, instead of trusting to the uncertainty of procuring seed oats every year, as instanced by the great scarcity at the present time. From the recent scarcity of hay here, we have been obliged to import largely from Adelaide, Launeston, &c. This ought not to be the case where there are such facilities for the culture of artificial grasses in New South Wales. The above grasses may be sown during winter, spring, or autumn months. Parties favouring us with orders for our seeds may rely on us only sending what are really genuine. FERRIS & SON, Pitt street, near Theatre, Sydney. Perennial (Red Clover) Cow, or Marl Grass. JUST RECEIVED, a large parcel of the above, almost equal to Lucerne as regards the immense produce from each acre of Land. This is the finest of all grasses for fattening stock, and enriching old worn-out paddocks. Makes splendid Hay. Quantity per acre, 20 pounds. The undersigned have reduced the above to Is. per lb. per cwt., or Is. Gd. per lb. in less quantity. FERRIS & SON, Pitt-street, near Theatre, Sydney. The Undersigned beg to recommend to Farmers, Graziers, and others, their new importations—Hop, Trefoil, Poa Pratcnsis, Fiorin, Timothy, and Cocksfoot Grasses, which will be found in every way suitable for this climate. FERRIS & SON, Pitt-street, Sydney. IMPORTANT COASTING VESSELS AND SHIPPERS OF CATTLE ON THE EAST COAST TO AUCKLAND. MR. ALFRED BUCKLAND RESPECTFULLY informs his Friends that CATTLE can be LANDED on the East Bank of the Tamaki, about one mile from the Heads, OVER THE VESSEL'S SIDE, WITHOUT THE USE OF A BOAT, AND AT ALL TIMES OF THE TIDE, thereby saving the risk and injury to the cattle of a second time putting them in slings, as well as the additional cost of boating, with the further advantage of being at once in A GOOD PADDOCK "WITHOUT ANY DRIVING. "Vessels not drawing more than nine feet of water can enter and leave at all times with half tide, and at full tides vessels drawing fourteen feet of water can enter safely. Charts of the river, kindly furnished by Captain Burgess, can be obtained at the Haymarket. Assistance, if necessary, can at all times be obtained on the spot. Stock forwarded at once to the market, or grazed at fixed rates until sold.
