Melbourne, October 24. News from Brisbane gives favorable accounts of the cotton plantations. The Rebecca has sailed for Adelaide. Melbourne, October 2s. The captain of the Britain’s Queen, from Brisbane, reports that the Governor has arrived, having visite Booby Islands, examined the stores, and ® e jec Albany Island tor a settlement. He also visited lioc hampton and Gladstone's Diggings, whereof the accounts are favourable.
Wool is arriving fast at Brisbane. Flour is firm. Maize, hay, and potatoes advancingCotton goods have advanced 20 per cent.
