Commercial Record.

Nkiv-Zkax.andrr Office, Friday, November 7^ l » 1802. There has been but one foreign arrival during the week,—the schooner Sea lireeze from her mission lour among the Melanesian and other South Sea Island*. , The barque Alice Cameron, from Sydney, is looked for hourly; and the William Miles, the third ship of the Nonconformist party, having been now a hundred and one days at sea may be considered fully due. The departures were the mail steam siiip Lord Ashley, and barque Kale, both for Sydney with colonial produe. The splendid ship Hanover, which it was supposed would be ttlteti up for convuyancv of military invalids to I'.nglantl, lias

cleared at the Customs* her destination having been changed to Calcutta.

AUCKLAND STOCK AND SHARE MARKET.

Auckland Stock Exchange. Coromandel seems at last to be advancing in public estimation, which is evinced by the greater support that has been given to one or two of the more recently formed associations. The Victoria Gold Mining Company has just been registered under the Joint Slock Companies Act. lis nominal capital is (t‘9oo, divided into 90 shares of £ll) each. No call has yet been made towards its working expenses. A few shares in it have already realized £ls premium each. The leader in this claim, where last laid open, was about 0 inches in width, and was found to be extremely rich. A new “ prospcciing” Association has this week been formed under the title of the “ New Zealand Gold Mining Company” with a nominal capital of £T,00() in 190 shares of £To each. It is not intended I believe, to register the Company until a suitable claim has been chosen. As a proof of the extreme richness of some of the Coromandel quartz leaders, I have this week smelted 2 lbs. 1 oz. avoirdupois of quartz and obtained therefrom 9oz. 2 dwl. of gold of 17 carats 1 grain standard, which at £‘3 Is. (id. its value, would amount to £'27 15s. Od. I will at some future period again revert to the important subject of reducing the quariz obtained from the various leaders, and point out to the diggers the way to secure for themselves the maximum amount of gold therefrom, at a minimum cosi. New Zealand Bank Shares are now firm at 30s. premium, and New Zealand Insurance Shares have realized £‘4 premium each. Auckland Gas Shares have this week changed hands at par. New Zealand Stock.
