SYDNEY.
Our Sydney files by the Lord Ashley extend to the 19th instant Parliament has been further prorogued, by proclamation, until Tuesday, the 29th of April. All lands and runs placed in quarantine for the purposes of the Cattle Disease Prevention Act of 1861 have been released from such quarantine. The same gales which visited Auckland during the early part of the month have been severely felt along the coast and have been attended with loss of property and life. The verdict of }elo-de se, arrived at*n the case of the unfortunate liliss Loftus, who destroyed herself some three monts since, has been reversed by the Supremo Court, on the application and motion of Mr. Broadhurst, Q. C. His Excellency Sir John Young returned on Monday, the 14th April, by the Pclorus, from his official visit to the Pitcairners on Norfolk Island. The people generally were found to be comfortable, but it was observed that many of the buildings on the island are going to decay. The population now amounts to about 200, of both sexes.
