GOLD DISCOVERY. TWO THOUSAND POUNDS REWARD. Superin. "ndent's Office, Auckland, March 4, 18G2. iIHHE following Resolution, adopted by the ProX vincial Council of the Province of Auckland, is published for general information. J. WILLIAMSON, Superintendent. Resolved—" That an address be presented to his Honor the Superintendent, requesting him to offer a reward, not exceeding two thousand pounds, to be awarded to any person or persons who shall discover an available Gold-field in the Province of Auckland, and make the same known to the Provincial Government; this Council pledging itself to vote such su] when necessary, subject to the following conditions : " 1. Claim or claims to be sent into the Provincial Government. " 2. An available Gold-field shall be considered to exist, whenever such a quantity of gold shall be obtained from it as shall have afforded employment to not less than 500 diggers, for three months, at fair average wages. " 3. All matters relating to any claim shall be referred to and decided by three Commissioners, to be appointed for that purpose by the Superintendent, by and with the advice and consent of his Executive Council. " Commissioners award to be made not later than nine months from the date of reception of claim." Tenders for Fascining portions of Great South. Road between Papakura and Drury. Office, until noon of FRIDAY next, 2nd proximo, from persons desirous of ERECTING a BAKERY at Otahuhu, according to a plan and specifications, to be seen at the Royal Engineer Oifice, Albert Barracks. PREPAYMENT OF POSTAGE. 1" T is important to remember that the prepayment of INLAND LETLERS is no longer optional. Every class of Letters and Packets, whether for delivery at this Office or elsewhere in the Province, or for transmission to other Provinces, or to places beyond the Colony, must henceforth be prepaid, and the prepayment must be made by affixing New Zealand Postage Stamps thereon.
