Commercial Record.

Nkw-Zkala.vdkfi Office, Auckland, Friday, June 21st, 11161. We have tiad two arrivals and one departure during the past week, the Watcrliy from London, witli a moderate supply of goods on merchants account, and a large quantity of military stores and rifle ammunition; the Coral Queen from the south Sea Islands, with a cargo fruit which was brought to the hammer by Mr. Phillips on Thursday, and met with a dull sale. The departure was the Minden, in ballast, for Guam. There is a considerable amount of business doing, but, unless by the retailers, it is mainly conducted at the Auction Marts which, in most of the Colonies to the Southward of the Equator, are the general and favourite mediums of effecting clearances “ to close consignmentf." It is a noticeable fact that, in despite of existing and untoward relations with our Maori brethren, landed property has been but little depreciated even on the outskirts of settlement, whilst in Auckland and its suburbs, high prices continue to rule. In exemplification of this we need but advert to the sale of town allotments effected by Messrs. Cochrane, Brother it Co’, on Thursday last, which we, at least, should be disposed to pronounce as highly satisfactory. The amouut of produce received from the coast, consists of 1830 bushels of wheat, 220 bushels maize, 49 bushels apples, 200 bushels sand, 500 bushels lime, 0 hides, ;i sheepskins, 100 lbs smoked fish, 4 tons salt pork, 0$ tons potatoes, 20 cwt. pumpkins, 672 lbs butter, 1560 lbs honey, 20 pigs, 44 head cattle, 160 sheep, 7000 bricks. Cochrane Brothers iSr Co., held a sale of real property at their Mart Fore street on Thursday last, when thirteen allotments situate in Nelson, Cook, and Hobson streets were submitted to public competition.
