Land Sale.—According to advertisement, a sale of a variety of lot's of Waste Lands took place at the Hall of the Mechanics' Institute on Monday, The attendance, at the commencement, was alack hut became much more numerous as the sale proceeded. For the Country lands (if Mongawai, offered at ten shillings an acre, there was little demand and no competition, but three lots of 82 acres, 7G| acres, and 74i acres being taken at the upset valuatio , out of seven and twenty lots brought forward. There were no offers for nine farms at Karaka varying in extent from 10.5 to 300 acres. At Pukekohe, a farm <>f 137 acres was sold at the upset price of ten shillings per acre.
