, Exports -Foreign, Per Pioneer, for Melbourne: —80 tons potatoes, \ ion cheese, and original cargo from Russell. The barque Oriental, Captain Macey, arrived in harbour on* Monday at 2 ‘M p. m., after a pleasant passage of K»8 cl«ys from Ponsinonth. The.Oriental sailed from Gravesend on the 4th of November; touched at Portsmouth, on her way down Channel, and took her departure thence on the Ptlx of November. It was reported at Portsmouth that the ,Northern side of Sebastopol had been taken by the allies. The passage of the Oriental proved to be a rema«kahly fine one ; she experienced moderate weather throughout, there never having been occasion to reel topsails. A birth occurred on the 97tn of Nov. and the “ Ocean Child’’ was named Adah Augusta Oriental Giles. On the loth December, the Equator was crossed. And on the 4th of January the ship pas ed within sight of the island of Tristan d’ Acuuha. In latitude Vti ° South, longitude 80° West she spoke the ship Harriet Humbolt, from Liverpool,-bound to Callao. Slio passed to the Southward of Tasmania aud made the Three Kings on the 20th at 6a. in. Our old acquaintance the clipper schooner Adah, built at Coromandel by Messrs. Gillies and Menzies, and now in command of Mr. W. Aker, arrived in p un on Monday at 3 p. in., after a very fair passage of fifleen days from Melbourne. The Adah, sailed, in the first instance, from William’s Town on the 3 )th of January, and from Port Phillip Heads on the 3rd instant ; hut in consequence of foul winds and stress of weather she put back on tlie following day. She took her final departure on the 9th with the wind from West to South West, and thence veering round to South and. East. She expet icnced moderate weather during her run across, making the Three Kings at G a. in. of the 22nd, on which day, at noon, she was off Cape Maria Van D'emen. For (wo days previously, she had been in company, the weather being light and cairn, with a barque which was dead to leeward and which she was unable to make out. On the 23rd at 8 p. m., the North Cape distant 0 miles, she spoke the American whaling barque President, fourteen days from Sydn°y bound for tiie United States. The schooner Ar.ei, a vessel of 140 tons regis'er, the property of Mr. Collier, the ownero- r the Adah, was about to sail from Melbourne for Wei ington and Auckland at the date of the Adah’s departure.
