TO THE ELECTORS OF THE SOUTHERN DIVISION. GENTLEMEN,— In a short time you will be called upon to elect members to represent you in the General Assembly of the Colony. In the next Session questions of vital importance to the Colony will bo discussed, the settlement of which will be a turning point in its history. Impressed with a belief that the time has arrived for those having the interest of the Colony at heart to be " up and stirring," and believing that my political opinions are identical with those of the majority of the Electors of your District, I have no hesitation in asking for your suffrages. Cent lemon, 1 bof>- to offer myself as a candidate for a seat in the House of Representatives, as one of your representatives of the Southern Division. 1 remain, Gentlemen, your obedient servant, W. BUCKLA.ND. Sept. 21, 1855. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTHERN DIVISION. fi ENTLUMEN,—I ben-to offer myself VJJ as a candidate for a seat iu the General Assembly. Neither my time nor inclination will enable me to make a personal canvass of the Division, but I trust my principles are sufficiently known to justify me in indulging the hope that without this personal attention you will return me as one of your representatives. If otherwise I shall be perfectly satisfied, for, if I know anything of my own feelings, I seek to promote your interest and the interest of the Colony generally rather than my own personal .ambition. I beg to remain, Gentlemen, Your most obedient seivant, J. Newman. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTHERN DIVISION. fi ENTLEMEN, - Before Responsible vJ Government comes into practical operation it becomes necessarily fair to the several Constituencies that "the Governor should dissolve the Mouse of Representatives to enable the electors to make a choice of such members as enjoy a largo share of their confidence, to represent their interests under a new system of Government, by the introduction into the House of an order of .Ministers similar to the form adopted by Her Majesty in the Imperial Parliament." Therefore I have the honor again to canvass your suffrages for re-election (as a member for your Division) to a seat in the House of Representatives, New Zealand. Walter Lee. September 25th, 1855.
