Provincial Councils Election.—Last evening Ihe adjourned Meeting of the Operatives and Labourers of Auckland was held in" m Assembly Room adjoining the Osprey Inn, fo r the purpose of having the report of the Committee appointed on Tuesday evening last to, "select and bring forward one or more candidates for representatives from the Opera4ivc and LabouringClasscs, for approval or. disapproval. Four were nominated, viz. Messrs. Alex. Wrigh'j Win, Griffin, James Derrom, and John Makepeace. A vole having been taken, the choice rested upon the three first-named and a Resolution was adopted pledging l » e Meeting to support them as candidates for sea* in the Provincial Council. Lectures on Subjects in Church History < —ln consequence of the inclemency o f weather on Wednesday evening, the ,rS - these lectures (on the Roman Catacombs) * l postponed. It will be delivered by the Rer ' Thomas Buddie in the Presbyterian Cliurcb, g Monday evening next.
