WHEREAS a notification having appeared in the New-Zealander fiomMr. G. D. Smale cautioning the public against negotiating Two Bills (one for £10 the other for £11) given me for the purchase of a horse, I consider it necessary to state the particulars which Mr. Smale has for some reason concealed. The Horse in question was sold in the usual way, and Mr. Smale was satisfied with regard to his soundness, yet after keeping him three days he thought proper to send him back ; and some one without my knowledge allowed him to be put into my stable. With regard to Mr, Smale's two Bills, they were negociated prior to his advertisement, therefore he must seek redress in another manner, and at the proper time and place, 1 shall be fully prepared to prove the soundness of the horse by competent and respectable judges, —also that I was offered £20 cash for him two days before I sold him, by one who knows what a horse is. Joseph Badkin. Wednesday Morning, 18th July, 1849.
