English Smri'iNG, — 13y the latest letters and newspapers received hy the hir Edward Puget, there had been no arrivals at London from this colony subsequent to the Thomas Arbuthnot, but we ore informed by the Captain and passengers of the former ship, that a vessel from Sydney arrived in the Downs prior to her de parture, having made the passage in ninety six days, which would piobnbly he the R flem.w, hence the 3 1st October. The mails forwaidrd (how Sydney via China, by the M.irmion, Bla-r, Ami and Essex, in September lust, arrived in London during i lie last week of January. lI. M. steamer Aeluion, C.iptain Siokes, sailed from Poitsmouth for INI idtiia, the Cnpe of Good Hope, vSydncy, and New Z'aUnd, nhnut the 17ih January. The Elphmston, 425 tons, TiUman, sailed from the Downs f»r Sydney on tue Ist, and the Thetis, from Plymouth, with emigrants on the 3rd February. The Canton, 506 tons, Tnend, left Gravescnd on the Ist February, tor Plymouth, to embaik emigrants for Sydney, and would sail from thence übout the 15th Februaiy. The Erjues'iian was to leave Gravesend about the 18 h, and Plymouth the 25tli February, with emigrants for Sydney. The Prince ot Wales haJ been taken off the berth for Sydney, and in her place, the Waratah, 438 tons, Volum, had been laid on to sail about the 15th February. The Seringapatam, 353 tons, Livell, and the Lima, 340 tons, Yule, were both lo uling tor Sydney, and would sail about the 20th February. The Lydf >rd sailed for Deal from L'iuncc fc ton, oathe 3 1st January. The Gratitude, 271 tons, hmith, entered outwards for Adelaide on the 29th January. The ship John Dal ton waa to sail from Liverpool for Sidney on the 20 ih February—and the Subiaon, for Port Phillip, about the same time.
