DEPARTURE OF THE GOVERNOR.

On Thursday His Excellency Governor Grey embarked on board H. M. Steamer Driver, to proceed to Port Nicholson. The differences existing between the Superintendent and the other authorities, exclusive of the increasing rebellious conduct of the Natives, render the immediate presence of His Excellency, indispensable. By the arrival of the Kate, schooner, on Wednesday, we received our Wellington Papers, due prior to the 6th June, from which we have made extracts, which will describe the state of affairs immediately subsequent to the action of the 16th May. The Government Brig sailed on Thursday evening from Tauranga, with Ensign Symonds who is deputed with some communication from the Governor, to the natives in that district.
