PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency ROBERT FITZROY, ■ Esq., Governor of New Zealand, $C. #6\ %C. WHEREAS by an Oidi nance enacted by the Governor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council, Session 2,N<yy, intituled." An Ordinance " lo provide for the Registration of Deeds " and Instruments affecting real Propert}'/ it is enacted " that there shall be established " in every County or District, as the case " may be. within the Colon}', an Office which "shall be called the 'Register Office/ for " registering in manner thereinafter directed, " the Deetis, Wills, and Memorials thereby " authorised to be registered." And whereas it is thereby further enacted, " that the said " Ordinance shall come into operation within " any county or district, at such time as His " Excellency, with the advice of the Exe- " cutive Council, shall by Proclamation ap- " point." Now therefore, I, the Governor, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested, by the said in pait recited Ordinance, do hereby, with the advice of the Executive Council, appoint that the said Ordinance shall come into operation within the district, lof Port Nicholson, or Wellington, on Wednesday, the first day of October, next ensuing. Commissariat Office, Auckland, July 29, 1545. Tenders of the Debentures of the Colonial Government in exchange for the 81115 of the Undersigned upon the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, London, will be received at this Office until Noon the 4th proximo. The amount required is about Two Thousand Pounds. The Tenders must be in Duplicate, and must express in words at length the rates at which the Bills will be taken.
