ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
• i I!F!'UBNED SOLDMt SERIOUSLY INJURED. (Per Press Association), AUCKLAND, November 19, A discharged soldier named James S. .lackson, who returned from the war a few weeks ago, fell off the'platform of a Iramear on Saturday night, and rolled under one of the wheels. The ear had lo be lifted before lie could be released, lie was conveyed to the hospital, where the left leg' was amputated at the thigh. Jackson sustained other injuries, and'it U believed that ho was also injured infernally. Previous to enlisting he was employed as a seaman-in the intercolonial trade.
TRAIN COLLIDES WITH CAM'. (Per Press Association). CIIRISTCHUfICH, Nopnber 19. An accident occurred nt Bell's crossing, near Jtangiora, this morning, a' baker's cart colliding with a train. A youth named Clifford Earnsliaw, the ijlvivcr of the cart, had his right leg ami left arm broken, and also sustained injuries to his face.
