A perusal of the comparative list of entries at the various shows held under the auspices of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society lends one to tho conclusion that up to last year, at any rate, Oamarii has provided one. of the, best shows in the Dominion; indeod, for quality of stock it has held a place second to no other similar society, and when times again become normal breeders and • exhibitors generally will 110 doubt see to it that North Otago rises again to tho high standard which characterised its exhibits in pre-war days. In the meantime it is the duty of farmers and the puMie generally to support the society to the utmost of their power 1 to enable it to rocover its former posi--1 tion amongst kindred societies. :■ 1 The exhibits this year leave nothing to bo desired regarding quality, and patrons at the forthcoming show will . find plenty of attraction, in the. way of competitions and side, shows. The con- ) venience of country visitors is being i catered for by the Railway Department, ). and the catering for the inner man ,js in the hands, of the North Otago Red '■ Cross Society, which deserves the hearty 1 .sympathy and. support of tho guuevnl 1 public. 5 This year the "People's Day" falls on the usual weekly half-holiday, and it 3 i 3 hoped that townspeople, will avail ? themselves of the opportunity to visit L the Show'aiulmist by their patronage .in keeping alive an institution-that has f done so much to benefit the town and r district.
