The Matin states that Kerensky, after his failure, attempted to commit suicide, then disappeared into the conn-; try. He is trying to join General Korniloff and General Kale-din. The Daily Chronicle's Petrograd correspondent, telegraphing on the loth, says:—lt is impossible to forecast the future.'.The Bolshevikis to-day have the upper hand in Petrograd, after fighting between Gatchina and V, Tsarskoe-'Selo,. Kerensky's fifteen hundred Cossacks concluded an armistice on Wednesday with the Bolshevikis' force; of sixteen thousand. General Krasoff, commander of the Cossacks, offered to send M. Kerensky to Petrograd under Cossack convoy. •M.Kercnsy escaped, and his whereabouts are unknown. The Bolshevikis re-entered Petrograd with bands playing, but the populace was silent. The fighting in Moscow lasted between the 11th and 15th, both sides using artillery. The Bolshevikis bombarded the Kremlin and the cathedrals. Sniping occurred alj over .the city. Riotous crowds broke the spirit stores and completely terrorised the city. General Kaledin, with the Cossacks, control the Don region. It is reported that the Cossacks surrounded Charkoff and Veronetz, and captured Viazma. The Bolshevikis will probably be compelled to come to terms,with the other.Socialist parties. The non-So-cialist Ministers are still imprisoned. Received November 18, 11.30 p.m. COPENHAGEN, November 17. Danish frontier reports" give particulars of a violent.cannonade this morning in the North Sea, westward of Manoe Island. The firing lasted four hours, punctuated by heavy explosions. It is believed that a large number of the Baltic warships were engaged, several of which were seen.
