Mitchell, and T: L.,Ealfo 3 (secretary)., ■ The. Awamoko Patriotic [ Society, through theiiv secretary. (Mr I, E. S. Brewster) forwarddl. £35 as a ii donation to the fund, ami stated.that I, if necessary further snmi> could.be raised. The secretary, iv,is instructed to reply recognising the splendid efforts of the Awamoko comi/iittee and the • celerity with which -tlio money,..had been raised. The ,]|iifield Patriotic Committee wrote informing the coinmitttee that £2s.would soon.be raised, and it was their desire to increase the amount to DO. As a further .means of raising money it* was suggested by one of tlu> members that largo -sums could be made by collecting waste eastiron, of which Messrs Beid, and Gray - would become /purchasers. .The- sug-' ' gestion was approved, and-it was ifi« solved to draw the attention of country committees in the-matter, and iuvito air to forwardrto tho secretary- anysupplies of cast-iron ports were' received from the. upon their endeavours to secure contributions, and it. was pointed -out that £B-1 9s (id had been added to the.fund ' through the'week.
