Letters have been received by the socioty from Bevernl sources., in nci knowledgment of gifts sent, for hospital and other purposes. • A country -worker received a letter .from Alexandria 1 dated August sth, ' 1916 and signed, "M, A'. Buck, V.AD.,"* gratefully acknowledging a consignment of home-made jam.Which had been much appreciated by those in the hospital with which the writer was engaged. ' ~ Another letter from 'LieutenantColonel Cliaytor, Commandant N.Z.E.F.' Headquarters, Egypt, dated Cairo, December 25th, 1916, testified to the satisfaction with which a parcel of forty copies of Now Zealand newspapers had been received, -and stated that they had been distributed throughout the Egyptian : hospitals in which there were New Zealandei's. Colonel Cliaytor said' lie distributed many of the papers personally, and thanked the/society on behalf of the men for the gifts.
