VICTORIA LEAGUE RED CROSS SOCIETY.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Victoria League Red Cross-Society was held in the room on Tuesday morning. Letters were received and read from the Min-. isler of Internal Affairs, acknowledging nine cases of soldiers' comforts aiid three cases of Christmas cakes, which had been forwarded by the transport Willochra on the ltith hist. Also the acknowledgment of hospital clothing for the sick' and wounded New, Zcalauders in France from Lieutenant-Colonel D, S, Wylic, N.Z.M.C., O.C. No. 1 N.Z, General Hospital. It was reported that the response to the Victoria League Motor Ambulance Fund was meeting with success, and it was hoped to be able to supply the quota of £7O,

The secretary begs to acknowledge a further donation of £1 1/- towards the fund from the Pathfinders' Club' (per Mr Martin). Munro, parcel clothing. Serbian box of Clothing: Mrs Whitton, Mrs J. Frascr, Dr Whitton; magazines, Mrs Sutton, Mrs Robinson; Mr Cox.

The shipment for October comprised the following: Twelve cases containing 22 suits pyjamas, 22 shirts, 22 undervests, 22 underpants, 22 handkerchiefs, sh'oes, tooth brushes and powder,.writing blocks, soap, cigarettes, and playing cards. 1 case sheets and pillow-cases, four oases old linen,..one cuse 72 pair hand-knitted sox, 30 balaclavas,. 5 scarves, 7 pair bed sox, 5 pair cuffs; 10 pair knitted slippers; also 773 sterilised gaifec pads, and books and magazines.
