AMUSEMENTS.

THE GLOBE OF DEATH,

The great "Globe of Death" sensation which is to be presented at the Show Grounds on Thursday ami Friday, is a thrilling item in which the "Fearless Staigs" perform some <lar-' ing feats on. Indian motor cycles. The Globe is a huge transparent steel sphere 18ft in diameter and -looks like a huge grey balloon. Miss Staig is claimed to be the only lady in the world who has ever attempted and accomplished such difficult feats with the motor cycle. Master Staig reaches the climax when he enters the globe by a specially-constructed door with his powerful Indian motor cycle. Starting off at a terrilic pace he attains a speed of between 40 and 50 miles an hour, then taking a sharp turn, he completely loops the loop, not only once, but six or eight times. During this daredevil ride his machine and body are at all angles; at most he is riding upside down. The act is indescribable, and must lie seen to credit that it is possible for any human being to perform it. The 1051b Indian motor cycle, fitted with Dunlop tyres, travelling at the rate of the fastest railway train exerts a great pressure on the globe. It is stated that the cycle makes 2000 revolutions per minute.
