Peter Mcßride, Agent-General for Victoria, advocates ; the representation of the Australian State Parliaments at the Peace Conference, because they are concerned-more intimately with the Commonwealth trade. The Hon, Sir Thomas Mackenzie, Iligli Commissioner foi\Ne\v ! Zealand, places' adequate; Imperial defence in the, fore- ■ front, and says: "Unless (his is assured it will be futile lo deal with any other subject atthe Conference of Umpire .1 : statesmen.'' Sir Thomas added that representatives of the great industries should confer. \Y.w Zealand's resources were practically untouched and were capable of enormous development.. • The Hon. Sir John McCall, Agent-General for Tasmania, advocates a conference of representatives of all partie:; in the various Empire Parliaments.
