Craigie, M.P., who was motored to the Gardcus by Mr \\, E. Scarlc. Later iii tho afternoon the Mayor addressed the cfowil from the Band rotunda,, expressing Oamaru's pleasure and pride in being , able to place the Gardens at tho die-• posal of such a liappy-looking lot of visitors who, he trusted, had thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Through'the kind instrumentality of the Borough Council milk and hot water in abundance were provided for the picnickers. Tea was generously supplied by Messrs dc Lambert 'Bros., who also kindly supervised the making of same, while the bandsmen were entertained at a capital luncheon by Messrs Me hi? tosh Bros. The committee of the picttk desire (o publicly express their'sincere thanks for these favours, and their picasure and satisfaction at the unanimity (of the warm welcome accorded to them by Oamaru's oflicial representatives and the citizens. The excursionists returned by trains leaving at 5.45, and (i.15 p.m., delighted with their outing, the enjoyment of which was not dimmed by a. single untoward incident.
