WORK OF THE SESSION

MINISTERIAL ANNOUNCEMENT,

Per Press Association,

WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. Tim Rt, Hon. W. V. Massey moved in the House this afternoon that, on ninl after Monday next, and for tho remainder of tho Session, the House meet on .Mondays at 7.30 p.m. for tho transaction of Government, business only.

Amongst the Bills the Government intend proceeding with the Premier mentioned an amendment to the Legislation Act, nud an amendment of the Land Act would be brought down. A Bill was also being prepared for the encouragement of breeding remounts and horse's suitable for artil-

A Workers Homes Amendment Bill; Mining Coal Mines; Cook Islands Bill; Fruit Industry Bill; Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill ' These would be introduced. Probably it would be' necessary to bring down two.Loan Bills. 'fchcre would also be a Washing-up Bill and if possible a Bill dealing with the Iron Industry would be brought/down. Without committing the Government to drop them, he did not at present piopose to go on with the Motor, Crimes Dofamfllioirnnd Migion Inslrnetion-in-Schools Bills. If the House attacked their work iii earnest, there was no reason why.tho Scission should not close in three weeks.

Sir Joseph Ward claimed that the Premier should make, an explicit statement, and say what Bills it was really intended to go on with. It was not fair to leave them in-doubt as they were prepared to help through the legislation if they wero treated fairly.

During the evening session, Mr Masscy revived the discussion upon tho motion to sit. on Mondays, and said he had told the House, ns nearly as possible what the programme would be. He wanted to go on quietly with the business of the Session, and he saw no reason • wliy they should not complete tho work by the end of the month.
