WANGANUI. April 11. - iA .meeting of the Borough Council ended dramatically this evening. At the previous meeting, when two avowed opponents oi the inolion were unavoidably absent, the Council decked, by a majority oi one, that the Borough Engineer's explamatlon of the charge made against him was not satisfactory, and notice was given by a councillor that he would move at next meeting that the resolution be rescinded. The matter came up this evening, when the Mayor refused to accept the motion. Five councillow thereupon Ht the table as a protest, and there not being a qfJorum the Mayor had to adjourn the meeting.
