WAIMATE DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The usual meeting was held on December 6th. Present: Meusrs Cochrane (chairman), Inkster, Jacksou, .Shack'leton, Grant, Lee, and Oolville. Mr.Pitcaithley, the headmaster, informed the Board that there is a subsidy dii e by the Education Board towards school bathing, £5 for WfM, and £5 for the present year. Report on the school for the past month: Roll number 492., average attendance 445 in the primary school, 58 and 50 in the High Schooltotal roll 542, & nd average 405, The infant school is still overcrowded, but will fee Umporarily relieved at the of the-year when the npper ,aiass will be promoted to Standard I. room. It is hoped that the efforts of your committee to secure further accommodation Will be successful.
