At one of the. police-courts recently a man was fined forty shillings for' assaulting a policeman. Considering himself a much-injured man he, on reaching the door, began abusing the magistrate in language that was never used in Parliament. An officer was sent after him, and he found himself once more in the dock and fined again, for contempt of Court.
