THE ROYAL PICTURES.
There was a fairly good h o use, in spite of the counter attractions, at the Opera House last evening, when the Royal Pictures opened f» two-flight season. Taking as a criterion the frequency of tho laughter and applauso the show was evidently onjoyod as indeed it should bo. Tho feature of the programmo is tho jength of tho films which were shown, many of them taking a considerable time to put through. In tho preparation of tho films it js evident that skill and experience- .has been bronchi to 1-oar, and thero has been roil ingenuity in tho development o! tho stories. They relate, 0 f courso, to a variety of scones, the rural ones IcW particularly interesting, while Ihs watftside scenes - were also of tho kind that ofl« desires to see repeated. The ma'dhimf ts«l is ;oJ t-hq latest pattern and the advantage of the olectrwligliv makes it a ported instrument of projection. Among the best pictures shown last night wore tho Aeroplane Raco, Uncle's Pres i>t President Fallericg in Lor.don, the Stadium Sports, Under a Croowllo Skin, and the Stag Hunt. The yrogramme altogether was a varied one. Aft entirely new programme of pictures- will be shown this* evening.
