SALE OF WORK.

The Guild sale nt Otepopo was opened by tho Hcv; 13. M'ivor on Thursday nitcriioon. The attendance nt tlic opening ceremony was meagre, but n. fuir number of purchasers attended later on in tho day. The stalls were tastefully draped, end laden with the hand-work Of the members of tho Guild. An array ' of Hags crossed and rccrossed the hall, nnd suitable mottoes were affixed to the .walls. The various stalls and stallholders were as follows: Fancy-Mrs M'ivor and Miss Tttit; plain-Mesdaines Fleming, Johnston, G. l'aterson, and Misses lioss and Jauics; lollies-Miss Wnnsuonc ; re-freshaienls-Mcsdainea Hobcrtson and Campbell, nnd Miss Jlunro; Christmas tree-" .Santa Claus "• and tho Misses Dichl, Tlic side attractions were a shooting gallery (in charge of Mr Uobortson), weighing machine (Mr ■ V. l'ringle), galvanic battery (Mr T. HVhtc), nnd bran tub (.Misses Jean l'aterson and Barbara Morrison). . (lowers (Misses Eltie l'aterson and Jessie talon),' telegraph office (Mr Beckmnn), wiih Miss K. l'lilcrson nnd Muster An/ drew Wilson as messengers). The business during the evening was brisk, and the side attractions were well patronised. Mr M'ivor, :,;ti few humorous and appropriate remarks, again commended the sale and its objects to tho best consideration of those, present. During the evening the church choir contributed the part songs: " Canadian Boat Song " and " Ha 1, Smiling Morn," In a very creditable manner,. Miss Wilson snug "Jessie's Dream," Miss Grunt "The Bonnie Bunks of Loch Lomond," Captain Marshall " The Hundred ripers," and Mr Fleming " The British Lion," nnd the same gentlemen Bang the duct '* All's well." The whole of tho items being well rendered were received with much, applause. Miss Wilson presided at the organ, and Mrs A. Frame at the piano. Before closing n .•very comprehensive vote of thanks was moved by Mr M'lvor, nnd carried by jicclnmation. As a largo quantity of goods still regained, tlic ladies decided to continue the sale on Friday, when Thursday's (takings wore considerably augmented.
