MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
YESTERDAY. (Before Major Keddell, S.M.j Robert S. Campbell and Donald Campbell were charged with behaving -at We.ilon in a manner calculated to cause a breach of the peace. 11, S. Campbell pleaded guilty, and 1). Camp,bell, for whom Mr Lee appeared, not guilty. Sergeant King prosecuted, and called, as a witness ilnines Stephenson, who had sedd the incident which led up to the quarrel. Donald Campbell had essayed to turn a drun-k man out of the porch of the hall, whereupor. R. S. Campbell had inteneiivxl, using language, to his namesake which, in witness opinion, justifiy.l the quarrel.. R. S. 'Campbell followed P. Campbell outside and struck him. .Interrogated by Mr Lee, witness said that Donald. Campbell bad used no unnecessary force an evicting Goodall. Constable. Cassidy had seen It. S. Campbell at Weston on the' night in question when ([iinpbell had threatened lo cause a disturbance as soon as the constable left the place. The information against Donald Campbell was dismissed, there being no . evii'.lence to prove his guilt, and R. S. Campbell was lined 20s, with Kls costs. John Nicol an old offender, for being drunk was sentenced to three, days' imprisonment. Waller Goodall, for being drunk and disorderly at Weston, was fined £l, with 7s costs,
