LEMON JUICE AS GERM KILLER.
An authority on typhoid stales that the action pf lemon juice on the bacilli of this disease has a very interesting effect. The bacilli experimented on were placed in a solution of ten per cent, lemon, jujee, tliis was. fatal to the germ's, muiiy oi which succumbed to a much weaker test. Experiments Avere also made with other fruit juices, lime juice, apple juice and grape juice'were tried, but the most conclusive results were" atr, tained with the latter. In some ■test's it proportion of one per. cent.. elTe.-Uially destroyed the vitality of the typhoid bacilli and while all the above named juices had a fatal effect on the bacilli nothing was so deathly as. a . certain bottled grape jiiicc. bought at an. ordinary grocery store.
