OAMAKU MARKET REPORT. North Otago Times Office. Saturday Evening. Wheat: This cereal is not in any demand locally, and tho few lines that are changing hands are simply in satisfac. tion of millers' immediate requirements. Oats: The market is now quiescent. The total shipments from this port during the past year have reached, we are informed, nearly 100,000 sacks, and there is now only a small balance to carry forward to next year. It is easy, in tho presence of these facts, to form some idea of the prices at which feed oats would have stood in tho past months without the South African market, and this also gives some idea of tho value the same market is likely tu be to farmers in the future. The growing crops are very backward, and a spell of warm dry weather after the cold and wet of the past few weeks will be welcome. The crops are likely to be good, though the wire worm and the grub have both done a good deal of damage. We quote delivered in town, sacks d extra; Id should be added for f.o.b. Wheat.—Tuscan, up to 2s 3|d; velvet, to 2s 3d; red chaff, 2s 2d. Oats.—Danish and duns, to Is 5Jd; milling, Is Od; Tartarians, Is 7d (nom), Barley.—Prime malting (North Otago)', 23 (nom).
