The name of " He-and-She Bible " was given to an edition of the Bible printed in 1611, with reference to the rendering of Ruth iii; 15. Spme conies of this edition read, "He weht into the and others," She went into the
lurrmig to the present authorised version, it reads, " She went into tho city." The revised version has it, "Ho went into the city," with a marginal note " Or, according to some authorities', she wenf,"
The. first of the next chaDter shows that " he" is the word used by the writer of tho book,
