. *r BYIjSLEGHAHT. CHEisTOHDiica, January 4/ The interprovincial cricket match, Canterbury v. Auckland, commenced this morning on a good wicket, hut there was a small attendance. Auckland batted first, and totalled 210. N. lusk (85) gave a dashing display of hitting all round the wicket. Tho soundest Innings for the visitors was that of Hay, Who made 37, Callaway and Robertson bowled most of the-innings, the former proving very troublesome. Canterbury, lifter losing the first wicket at 25, made & fine stand,J Sims and Ollivier showing good form for their runs. Tho following &re the scores: Auckland.
