DUNEDIN SHOW.

— ,____ (BY TELEGRAPH.) Dunedin, November 25. Tho Agricultural and Pastoral Society* annual show was opened to-day, wher cattle, sheep, pigs, and dairy produce were judged. The show is m some re- | spects m advance of last year, but; fche bad weather has militated againsb fche stock, and has kept many breeders from exhibiting. In shorthorn cattle, which were a better class than last year, James Gow's Peer IV won the championship for bulls, and the Land Company's Pearl for cows. In Polled Angus (a strong class) Officer's Monarch was champion bull, and the Land Company's Tot tie champion cow. Only two Herefords were shown. Ayrshires, though good, were not so numerous as last year. Gemmell's Lord Glasgow was champion bull, and A. and J Macfarlane showed the champion cow. A notable feature was m the class for progeny, where five of Lord Glasgow's descendants entered the ring, each bearing a first ticket m their class. Mr F. Hellyer took both championships m Aldorneys with Nelson and Primrose IV. There Avas a fair show of dairy cattle, while fat were very good. The Land Company took the championship m the latter with a three-year-old Shorthorn. In sheep Mr Watson Shennan was the only exhibitor m finecombing merinos, and took both championships. Messrs Littlo Bros, took both championships m Border Leicesfcers, fche N.Z. and A. Land Company both m Lincolns, fche Hon. M. fclolmes both m Cheviot, and Messrs John Reid and Sons both m Shropshire Downs. Mr J. B. Logan exhibited the ram champion m the Romney Marsh, and Fulton's Trustees the ewe, Competition was limited m pigs and dairy produce. There was a fine display of implements and machinery.
