November 18. The Christchurch Meab Company haa just completed the largest deal m pork 1 which has yet been made m New Zealand, having purchased the whole of the ensuing season's output of bacon pigs of the New Zealand and Australian Land Oompany's Edendale Dairy Factory. The estimated purchase comprises 1500 to i 2000 pigs. : Downes' place m the team to represent New Zealand againsb the Australians haa been filled by Wilding, Mr W. Cullen, a labor candidate for tho City, addressed a meeting to-night. He supported the Government, and waa opposed to prohibition. He received a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr C, Lewis addressed the electors tonight. He declared himself strongly opposed to the Government, and was accorded a vote of thanks. ______!_____■
