MACRAES SOCIAL GATHERING.

■♦— (?ROM OJJR OTyN CORRESPONDENT.) A very enthusiastic meeting waa hold on the 24th instant at Dunback m connection with Macraes church extension charge, where the Rev. P. B, Eraser officiates as missionary. The evening being very unfavorable the friends from the surrounding branches were not m evidence so largely as those m the immediate vioinicy of Dunback, The room was fairly well filled, and ample provision was made by the ladies of the congregation for refreshment. Justice having been done to these good things the greatest heartinesH prevailed, so that the wintry weather outside waa quite forgotten, A lengthy programme was then gone through, comprising addresses by Beveral members of the Presbytery — Rev. Jas. Clarke, Palmerston (moderator of Macraes charge) chairman, Rev. W. Nichol of Hampden, and Rev. A. D. Thomson of Otepopo. Mr Duncan read the report and bal-ance-sheet of the congregation, which were adopted. Mr Ritchie spoke encouragingly, and tho Rev. P. B. Fraser having addressed the audience recorded his sense of gratitude to the ministers who had driven out
