The Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club held their annual cross-country steeplechase meeting at Sumnor on Saturday. The course was very stiff, and only 6 competitors out of 20 starters finished in the threo«mile event. The race was won by J. H. Jones (250 yards), T. 11. liarkor (275 yards), 2 ; 0. E. That this mooting urges on the Government to amend tho existing legislation prior to the close of tho present Bession in tho direction of providing for tho election of Charitable Aid Committees.
