Afc tho fio'irion; of a chargo of perjury against ftichard Shiola, a witness in tbo else of Scott v. Wharowi, tried afc the Supreme Court last month, when tho latter received a sentence of imprisonment, occupied tho Ilotorua Court. Shiels was committed for trial to-day. Bessie Scott, on whom tho oftenco is alleged to have been committed, and Emma Matuha, a witness, were also charger! with perjury. Tho ciso wag adjourue d to October 27th. Two more informations will bo Jaid. The secretary to the Prohibition Leaguo has received tho following wire from fcho Premier: "Your recommendations re tho Licensing Bill will leceivo duo consideration. It is my intention, if pos sible, to got the Bill through this session,"
