A SUGGESTION. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — Might I auygeet to the Oom* mittoe of tho North Otago Jockey Club, through you, that when framing tho programme for their autumn mooting they include in it a raco each day for horses owned by druggists and publicans residing in Oam'Aru. Jt would be a pity that such a plucky lot of sportsmen should bo discouraged from keeping a claga of racohoreos which are utiablo to copo with outoidora oti tho Oamnru racecourm 1 , bub can go to Dunodin, Christohurcb, and Titnaru and compete against all comers. At tho «arno timp, it must bo admitted that theownoro and trainers of somo local horses are such poor judges of thoir nag'a capabilities that they do not even invest their little pound on them when thoy como homo. Cocktail,
