Hold (presidont), Chaffoy, Lang, Gommoll, Macpherson, Hodloy, Williams, Livingatono, Holmes, Littlo, Murdoch, Maofarlano, Monlovo, and Mitchell. A letter wan road from tho Christian Endeavor Society (Mr Dowdney), asking for leave to play football on tho Association's grounds. It was pointed out that thoro might bo othors anxious to havo tho grounds for tho aamo purpose, and that a revenue might he derived from tho letting of the grounds. ' Mr Williams stated that if thoygrantod this application thoy might bring thorn* selves into conflict with tho Caledonian Socioty, and thero w«s no guarantee offered by applicant that the public would bo admitted or not. Mr Gemmell thought thoy might be able to let tho ground on Thursday aftor noons and derive aomo revenue. f JThe matter was ordered to stand ovor. The programme was m>xt considered. It was resolved to givo enpa as usual, agunst an amendment by Mr Gommoll, seconded by Mr Livingstono, " that cups to the nctu.il value of prizes takou bo given." Mr Hedley considered that championships should bo given. Mr Lang thought that if tluy took fiv« guineas from tho cup of 20 guineas for the largest prizetakor, and gave it ay n prizo to the best animal in its class instead of a certificate, it would be a very desirable thing. Mr Holmes moved that tho cup for draught horses be 15 guineas instead of 20 guineas. This was seconded by Mr Chaffey, and agreod to. Tho mattor of giving five guineas to tho champion horse was deferred. Tho cup for Ayrshires was reduced from to 20 guineas to 15 guineas, merinos from 16 to 10 guineas, and Leicester.-* and Liucolns wero reduced from 20 to 15 guineas in each case. The othor cups wero agreed to. An extra cup of seven guineas was offered for Aldornoy , cattlo ; and a cup of sevon guineas was also added for English Leicesters. In draught horses tho entrance foo was reduced to 10s for members, and los for non-members. Tho entranco foo for dogs was reduced to 5s for members, and 7s 6cl for non-members, and the ontranco fee for bread for non-members was reduced to 7a 6d. Draught holes' priz <s passed as previously, A fivo guinea medal wns offored for tho champion draught horse in tho yard, and •hieo guineas for tho champion maro or filly, and that the entrance foo for tho championship bo tho same as in ordinary sections. On the motion of Mr Murdoch points for the champion prises were ngreod to count for tho cups. Tho thoroughbred class was passed as printed, at same prizes. Mr Chaffey suggested a proviso that j only horses in the etud book or fit to bo ontercd in tho stud book bo allow oil to be entered, and ho moved to that efteor . Mr Lang seconded the motion. It waa tho only way they could encourage the breed of pureblooded horeea. Tho motion was carried. The definitions of the horses wore altered. Section 34, sob, wan m<ule to road 14 hands, and nob exceeding 15 hands, and tho wording of tho other flections respecting height were also altered to that effect. Another trotting section was added so ns to haro two on each day. In the cattle classes all wero passed, and the champion certificates were altered to three guinea medals ; and in Class 9, general cattle, two tectioriH wero added— dry cow and two-year-old heifer. In Bhoop, several alterations wero imde, and tho whole of the classes were modelled on the following lines ; Him over 30 months ; ram over 18 months, undor 30 months ; ram under 18 mouthi ; two ram* undor 18 months ; ewe over 18 months, in milk, with lamb at foot ; two ewes over 18 months, in milk, nith lamb at foot ; owe under 18 months ; two ewes under 18 months ; champion ram, L 2 2<j ; champion ewe, L 2 2s. The other alterations wero unimportant. Mr John Reid, president, intimated that ho would givo 10 guineas to bo ftpportioned aa the Society considered advisable, Mr Ling suggested that tho largo <uid prosperous business firms should donate more liberally to the special prizes of tho show. Some unimportant alterations to tho reflations were made. The judges wero not empowered to withhold prizes even when exhibits, in their opinion, woro of insufficient motit. fho best animals on the ground lobe awarded the prices.
