Received September 12, at noon. Melbourne, September 12. The dispute between the Government and Captain Whitney has re suited in the closing of the Colonial Ammunition Factory. The Government imported a million rounds recently ; consequently the demand within the next few months will be insufficient to keep the factory going. Brisbane, September 11. Parrett, who was arrested on suspicion of being a Russiau spy, has ob tamed from the Government the expenses caused by his arrest. Alb\ny, September 12. Arrived — Massilia. Passenger for New Zealand, Mr Helm. Adelaide, September 12. New South Wales has requested the Government of South Australia to facilitate the movements of the police sent to Broken Hill. The Ministry, however, declined, having adopted what is termed a policy of strict neutrality Probably this act of discourtesy towards a friendly Governs ment will be ventilated in the As sembly.
