STOCK SALES.

Messrs Fleming and Hodley report that there was a Urge attendance at the Junction Yards yesterday, and about nn average entry of stock. Competition was not quite so brisk as at the previous sale, but prices ruled about tho sumo. Iu sheep they yarded 6,">r>, and sold as follow a : On iiccount of Mr Wni. On account of Mr John Budge: 104 three-quarter-bred hoggets, at 13s 3d. On account of Mcaors J. and S. Wilson j 42 half and threequartc-bred ewei, at 14s. Of ca»tle there were very few fat forward, our yards being almost empty. Of stores a -d dairy cattle they yarded 33, and sold as follows; On account of Mr H. Burbury (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, limited) reports as follows: There was the usual attendance of farmers and others .it the Junction Yards yesterday. The ent»\ nf both sheep and c.ittlo was good, but the bidding was* not as brisk as mMit be expected from the number of people present ; prices were a little lower than last sale day. Our entry numbered 660, and wo pold as follows : On account of Mr William Kinnimont, 30 fat crossbred hoggets at 14s : 60 merino wethers at 7s Gd. On account of Mr R. P. Hay, 100 fat crossbred hoggets at 14s 8d ; 99 do do, at 13a 9d. Very few fat cattle were yarded, but those that came uude,.- the hammer were disposed of at very extreme prices, and at tho moment there is considerable demand for beef and we anticipate that good stores will participate in the forward movement apparent in this cluss of stock. We sold on account of Mr William Kinnimont 1 small fat «teer at L4 17s 6d. On account of Mr W. B. Robb : 2 steers, at L3 15s per head ; 3 steers, at L2 12s Gd per head ; 3 steers, at L2 16s per head On account of Mr W. Willetts : 2 young steers and 3 heifer*, at Ll 13s 6d per head. On account of other vendors ; Dairy cows at from L3 to L3 12s. Pigs— Wo yarded and sold on account of Mr W. H. Tolcher- 2 breeding sows, at L4. The private sales effected during the last fortnight are as follows: 250 crossbred .ewes and lambs, at lbs 3d ; /00 crossbred hoggets, at 14s 3d ; 100 fat crossbred ewes and wethers, at 17s' 6d ; 700 fat crossbred hoggets, at 13s ; 300 fat crossbred ewes and wethers, at 16s 9d • also 8 head fat cattle, at L8 5s per head. ' Messrs Bruce Christie and Co. report that there was a good attendanco of farmers and others at the Junction Yards yesterday. There was a medium entry of fat and store sheep. Prices for fab wero a ahado easier than rates ruling nt last sale. Stores were in good demand and sold well. There was a medium entry of cattfe, very few prime fat being forwarded, tho greater portion being store steers. Prices for fat were much firmer, and sold at equal to 24s per lOOlbs. Store cattle were in good demand, and prices showed an advance of from os to 10s Kr head. We sold, on account of Mr ugh Ross (Awamoko), the first lambs of the season, at from 12s to 8s. On account of Messrs P. Baxter, A. Grant, Murray, and others : 2 fat heifers and 1 steer (small), at L12 9t ; 1 fat heifer, at Lo Is ; 5 store steers, at L3 10s; 1 cow, at L3 lls; 4 oteers, at L2 4s ; 1 . tcer, at L3 2s ; 1 stter, at L2 7s : 3 hnfers, at 35s ; 2 steers, at 33s ; 2 heifers, at Ll ; 2 cows, at Ll 6s ; 1 steer, at 25a ; 1 cow, at L3 ; dairy cows, at L2 9s to L3 • store cows, from Ll 2s to 39s. We quote good 3 and 4-year-old steers, at L3 10s to L4 10s ; 2-year-old steers, at L2 10s to L2 15s: yearlings, 15s to 25s. Really prime fat bullocks are scarce and are worth ud to 25s per lOOlbs. v
