Tho spoits in connection with tho week's tniiniug of tho North Ctngo Mounloil Rifles took place yesterday afternoon in Lewis' paddock, North Roud. The weather was miserable from n sports point of view, and the attendance was, us a consequence, very meagre. Tho 6ports, however, wtvo nil that could be wishod, and theso who ventured out were plonsed I and entertained with tho skill nnd good horsemanship of tho troopers. Tho various events were keenly contestod, and, tlunka to the oxertions of the officers of the troop, tho sports wore carried out with onergy and despatch. Captain Chaffey, Lieutenants Nichols and Reid, and Sorgeanb-Major Piper noted as superintendents of tho games, and Mr J. It. Sewell noted as timekeeper. X This was a very interesting exhibition of skill, and tho performances of LanceCorporal Clarke showed both accuracy and good form. Tho competitors had to gallop round tho paddock, taking three hurdles, and tho team doing tho best record, keeping their drußsing on tho gallop and over tho jumps wore awarded the prize.
