I), winner of tho first prizo and silver medal at Glnsgow. Gouoral's dam Maggie, alias Darling, gained first prizo at Oo Highland Society a Show held at Glasgow ia 1857. I C S B.) gained first prize at the Highland Sooioty's Show at Perth in 1861, tho gold medal at iho same Society's Show at Kfllso in 1863, and tho Glasgow premium in 18(35. Sir Colin was imported from Scotland by tho late Mr Georgo Bookless, ia 1870, and was got by tho famous horeo one of tho bout stock -gotten in Sootland, many of his stock, including mares, having been sold at L200 and upwards, amongst which was tho famous Kilkorra mare (Colonel Fleming's) which gained many first prizes, being iirst as a yearlmg at Renfrew, Johnston, Barrhead, Mary hill and Glasgow j as a two yearold nhe was first at tho samo plaoes ; as a three-yotvr-old Bhe was first at Glasgow and Mary hill; a.d as a four year old was firat at tho Highland Sooiety'a Show at Invor* neas, Sir Colm's dam Jess was owned by Mr Thomas Young, Lochead, aud from hor ho brod four entires, Jest's Biro, tho wellknown horeo old Nir Colin, was nover beaten in Scotland, gained the Glasgow prom nun, and tho same year gained tho L40 premium at tho Highland Sooioty s Show at Kolso. Sir Colin gained first prizo as a yearling and two-year-old at all tho uhowfl, also tho u'rat at Paisley a fow days before boing chipped, und socond at tho Taitri Show in 1873, and his stock aro second to uona iu Ougo.
