THE MAYORAL ELECTION.
TO TIIK EDITOR. Sik, — Mr David Dutm being re-elected . for the third time our municipal boss, may mean two tilings. First— that no other man would have the job, even with I the LlOO attached to it ; or [second — our | mayor is so far superior to any other man who has held the position that it may bo i like the close borough in the oldon time, and be continuous. However, MrDunnisto have another spell to pilot the municipal ship for another year, and seeing ho has purged the members of the Borough Council, and now has a working majority, why, I bid him God speed. Aa a ratepayer I was at one time bitter against Mr Dunn, but now, as an ex-councillor stated to mo, that had the ola arrangomenigL continued another year Oamaru wouKF^ have been bankrupt, I have changed my mind. Joe.
